Escaping the Uncanny Valley is a branding project utilizing illustration and tips to overcome the uncanny valley affect of being secretly autistic. This phenomenon is inspired by the complex experience of a high functioning autistic adult and the subsequent masking, copying and imitating of social nuances and human behavior, that can feel similar to a robot imitating a person.
The design solution is a branding package and online community available to newly diagnosed autistic adults. The project is aimed at raising awareness of the lesser known characteristics of autism, eradicating harmful stereotypes, as well as, destigmatising the condition. This project was my major work undertaken as part of my university studies.
